"The Galveston Brewery"
The Galveston Brewery
Formally opened on February 2, 1897 the five story brew house located on Postoffice and 34th known as “The Galveston Brewing Company” would become an essential component in Galveston’s development. Over the years the name of the brewery has changed many times and has served many purposes, from post disaster relief to Prohibition, the brewery has helped to shape the Island’s rich history. Finally closing its doors in 1982, due to financial difficulties, the once bustling establishment of the booming factory district now sits abandoned as a relic of Galveston’s Industrial Age.
